Biography
I initially trained as a Chartered Physiotherapist in the 1960s and have had a wide and varied career in many different health speciality areas. I latterly specialised in the area of musculo-skeletal conditions working in an Outpaient clinic with the NHS and in my own premises. It was during this time that I became interested in Craniosacral Therapy due to its links with my previous training and experience in manual ‘soft tissue therapy’ skills.
I went on to train in Craniosacral Therapy at the College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy (CCST) in London under Thomas Attlee graduating in July 2007.
I established my practice as a craniosacral therapist on graduating in my clinic room at my home in Symington, whilst continuing to take on private physiotherapy clients.
I was able to offer craniosacral therapy as a treatment approach, due to this being accepted as part of the Scope of Practice of a suitably trained physiotherapist and my clients often reported benefit from this combined approach.
Now that I have retired from physiotherapy, I can bring my wide experience and medical knowledge into my continuing Craniosacral Therapy practice.
I regularly attend training events and study days organised by my peers and colleagues in order to continue my professional development.
